MO Extension in St. Joe to host Binational Health Fair Saturday

The University of Missouri Extension in St. Joseph is hosting a Binational Health Fair tomorrow.

County Engagement Specialist in Nutrition & Health Education Gina Lucas says the fair is designed for people who may not speak English as a first language.

"It sprung from the Binational Health Week that is a national and now an international project that occurs during a week in October.  And that's when we first began it.  It is to provide so they'll get flu shots. There's cholesterol screenings.  There's the body mass index.  So you can go around and we have organizations from throughout St. Joe who are coming in and setting up the different stations for them to get the health screenings that you typically get at any health fair."

The fair will take place tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Inter-Serve, on 5400 King Hill Avenue in St. Joseph.
